VIRTUAL AZULEJOS is an application-work in augmented reality by multimedia artist Fabiano Mixo commissioned via Law Aldir Blanc, by the Federal Government, Special Secretariat of Culture, Nova Iguaçu City Hall, Municipal Secretariat of Culture and FENIG.
Through an augmented reality collage of photos of the ruins of the ancient Church of Nossa Senhora da Piedade do Iguassu, passersby and residents are invited to take a historical look around the city. The work converges street art and new media, valuing public art and local cultural heritage.
