About Schauinsland Barrierefrei
This app is operated by the Black Forest Biosphere Reserve and is aimed at visitors to the Schauinsland mountain.
The tour offers an accessible way to experience the higher elevations of the Black Forest. Interactive stations invite users to marvel, explore, and enjoy.
The Schauinsland Accessible App brings the stories surrounding the natural attractions on the Schauinsland to life. Visitors can use a scavenger hunt within the app to discover hidden treasures of the Schauinsland Biosphere Reserve and, through augmented reality, can use their smartphone camera to view animal and plant species in their natural habitats and collect them within the app.
This app also allows people with special needs to explore the Biosphere Reserve independently. A visit to the Schauinsland thus becomes a special experience for everyone.
The app was developed in collaboration with the Esther-Weber-School in Wasser (Emmendingen) and the Institute for Geography and Geography Education at the Freiburg University of Education.
