This application was developed by student Fabrício Samuel Sausen and Prof. Dr Rejane Frozza, from the Computer Science Course at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul - RS, and is intended to help people with visual impairments in recognizing real money bills. Just point the camera at the banknote and capture a photo and the app will say out loud the value of the banknote. It is able to recognize the ballots on both sides and in less than half a second, not needing internet access at all. Currently only the 200 reais banknote is not recognized by the app. The application works through an embedded Artificial Intelligence, which has been specifically trained to recognize Brazil's banknotes.
