The Battle of Leuven is a historical documentary film, built entirely from archive material, tells the story of the conquest, occupation and liberation of Leuven during the Second World War. The focus is on Leuven, but at the same time the film sketches the broader story of WWII in Europe, from the Blitzkrieg in 1939 to the surrender of Germany in 1945. In this way, the events in Leuven are placed in a clear context.
