The book, The Pistachio Theory, belongs to the Saudi writer and journalist Fahd Amer Al-Ahmadi. This book deals with many topics that relate to human thinking and how to develop them, in addition to some important advice that helps self-understanding.
Whatever our views and results of our thinking, the author says, they are ultimately the result of profound and unconscious influences that most of us have forgotten, directing us to adopt opinions and ideas that we believe everyone should adhere to. We rarely think about the possibility of distorting our decisions and our view of the world through heritage, prevalence, stereotypes and our own experiences.
For this reason, the requirements of leaving with an honest opinion and the right decision are to recognize our prior exposure to all kinds of influences, to get out of the usual and recognized past shell, and to recognize that we are the ultimate outcome of social, cultural and psychological conditions that are more complex than we imagine.
It is only then that we are prepared to move from the stage of (why) we do that to (how) we develop ourselves and we become better than that.
