A very basic calculator that can be used to compute lateral concrete pressure utilising the formulae and design parameters noted in AS3610-1995: Formwork for Concrete.
This calculator is handy for both design and construction engineers looking to quickly determine lateral concrete pressures and contains sliders for C1, C2, and temperature values for on the fly checks.
Site engineers may especially find this tool useful for complying with formwork design pour rate restrictions when concrete temperatures recorded on site vary from the formwork design.
Users can input:
-Concrete density (kg/m^3) (Default set to 2450kg/m^3)
-Coefficient dependent on the size and shape of formwork (C1)
-Coefficient for the constituent materials of the concrete mix (C2)
-Pour height (m)
-Pour rate (m/hr) (vertical rise)
-Temperature (Degrees Celsius)
With all inputs applied the calculator will compute the maximum concrete lateral pressure based on the minimum of hydrostatic pressure or the formulae in AS3610.
*Notes & Disclaimers:
- This calculator is only valid for concrete temperatures between 5 - 30 degrees Celsius.
- This app is does not constitute professional Engineering advice and may not be used for any design. Use of this app is the responsibility of the user and the developer does not take any responsibility for its use or misuse.
-Users should always seek professional engineering advice before attempting to design or construct any structure compliance with local codes, regulations and principles of structural engineering.
