Every year at the end of October there is the famous Chestnut Fair in Melezzole, twelfth century castle with a typical medieval structure, located on Amerini Mountains, in the municipality of Montecchio. This year it has come allla XXIX.
The streets of the village are filled with typically autumnal scents of roasted chestnuts and wine; tasting of "brown" is, as always, the highlight of the fair, but there are tastings of local products such as mushrooms, honey, meats and more.
The Fair is an opportunity to admire the creativity of children of nursery and primary schools of the district, thanks to the Chestnut Silver, competition that every year gathers a large number of children of the participating institutions.
Furthermore, wise and skilled artisans showcasing their manual skills in the streets of the old town: canestrai, shoemakers, carpenters, show how to make quality products following the dictates of tradition.
