The Union Genes Diffusion Selection Body for the Charolais cattle breed aims to offer new perspectives to the breed. More modern and more accessible, OS GD 38 has developed this application to facilitate one of its regulatory missions: keeping a Genealogical Book.
A Genealogical Book can bring together thousands of breeders and several hundred thousand animals. It is accessible to a population of breeders involved in the selection and to animals of the breed concerned present in these farms. The organization and structuring of a Genealogical Book comply with many rules which are for some common to all Genealogical Books for the bovine species and which are for others specific to each of the Genealogical Books. The OS GD 38 application is therefore specific.
This application allows:
- to attach breeders to the Genealogical Book of OS GD for the Charolais breed
- to register in the Genealogical Book of the OS GD in Regulatory Pure Breed the animals of the Charolais breed of the attached breeders
- to certify the animals registered to access the Certified Pure Breed
- to carry out an expertise of the adult morphology of registered animals
- consult technical, genetic and genealogical information of related herds and registered animals.
Each of the permitted actions works in disconnected mode allowing users to be as close as possible to the animals for the accomplishment of specific missions. During each connection, bilateral data exchanges are possible between the application and a central database. Each synchronization allows to:
- update the central database of technical information collected in breeding
- download new data from a farm
- make all up-to-date data from a farm accessible to other users of the application
The OS GD 38 application is a "connected" Genealogical Book providing a more modern and digital image of the services offered to Charolais breeders today and tomorrow.
