Journey to the West is one of the classics in Chinese literature, and is considered the most famous classic for the younger generation. Published with an anonymous author in the 1590s and no direct evidence exists to know its author, but this work is often attributed to the scholar Ngo Thua An. The novel narrates the trip to India by the monk Xuanzang (Tang San Zang) to get sutras.
