A journey that began in 2008 and which today stands on five distinctive elements: "interactivity", "sharing", "innovation", "appropriateness", "efficiency." These five elements, that have marked the various editions of Pneumomeeting represent, in fact the cornerstone from which flows the "efficiency" of a high-profile scientific Event. And the confirmation over the years is the growing consensus that is rewarding for the effort that we support: Pneumomeeting, in fact, is today "the" Congress of Respiratory Medicine, the annual event not to be missed.
On this edition 2017 scientific program will be, as always, in workshops, readings and symposia on the topics most frequently found in respiratory medicine, which will give particular emphasis on diagnostic and therapeutic advances and those in the pipeline through a critical examination of the recent clinical studies, addressing, as well, the organizational aspect and the "sustainability" as part of our National Health Service.
Ample space, as has become tradition, will be given to Interstitial lung disease through an International Symposium on IPF and Rare Lung Diseases.
In line with the belief that modern Respiratory Medicine, if it really wants to continue to grow and not fossilize on outdated patterns, needs a serious generational change, it will give ample space to young people who, in different sessions dedicated, will exchange their ideas with experts of clear national and international reputation.
The scientific program, this year, will be enriched, moreover, a theoretical and practical course for Doctors of General Medicine, spirometric examination: Participants will learn the pathophysiological basis regulating lung ventilation and train themselves to the proper execution and reading spirometry.
Another course will be dedicated to pharmacists, whose role in the NHS is now recognized by all; they will be provided the knowledge necessary to help correct management of obstructive lung diseases, through the knowledge of appropriate therapies and correct use of the different devices in use.
Pneumomeeting 2017, finally, it will give ample space to the social aspects of those pathologies which involve a permanent disability and progressive resulting in chronic respiratory failure, through a Roundtable dedicated in which will discuss the involved Specialists, the various professional figures, the Home care providers, the competent health authorities and patients; in this context it will be discussed the roles, the skills, the objective problems and possible solutions for an efficient program of pulmonary care home.
Finally, the "Pneumomeeting Prize", in its eighth year, will, as always, a time of great scientific / cultural interest as they will be rewarded eminent national and international characters who have distinguished themselves in the field of research and clinical pathologies inherent in the respiratory system.
