About FODMAPs diet for IBS/SIBO
About FODMAPs :
FODMAPs are short chain carbohydrates that are difficult to digest in the small intestine. They include Fructose, Lactose, Polyols and Oligos.
Most people can tolerate FODMAPs. But for some people, especially people with IBS or SIBO, they cannot tolerate one or more kinds of FODMAPs.
FODMAPs are found in vegetables and fruits at different levels and mostly in processed food.
App Overview :
On the main page and also in the menu, you will find the vegetable and fruit sections which include the FODMAPs levels for a regular portion of each type of FODMAPs. The green light means that for this type of FODMAPs for a regular portion, consumption should be tolerated. A red light means that the level is too high for an intolerant person.
Eating regular portions of fruits and vegetables with only green lights should be well tolerated for everyone. However, if there are one or more red lights, people need to be careful. With time and testing, it is possible to better understand our tolerance for each type of FODMAPs.
You will also find indications and recommendations for other types of food.
