The OPA is a research, development and innovation (RD&I) project, created as a requirement of the Professional Master's Degree in the Postgraduate Program in Communication and Creative Industry (PPGCIC) at the Federal University of Pampa – Campus São Borja. The student responsible for the project is the master’s student of the program, Gabrielli Leiria Padilha, a journalist graduated from the Federal University of Pampa – UNIPAMPA (2019), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Vivian Belochio, a professor at UNIPAMPA.
The project is about the development of a prototype of a locative news aggregator application. The application defines itself as locative by using technology tools such as "geofencing" to delimit its performance in a given area. The idea was structured after research and surveys on the consumption of information by the population of the Fronteira Oeste-RS region. The survey showed significant numbers of reports, by the population, regarding the difficulty of accessing and understanding news of public interest. In addition, the interest of using mobile applications to consult official sites of local public communication. The application began with coverage in the cities of Manoel Viana and São Borja - RS.
The focus of the prototype is: To offer ease of access within the platform and encourage the consumption of information that is relevant for access to information and the exercise of citizenship.
The news is made available in the city sessions, through aggregation and journalistic curation, taking into account criteria such as: relevance, knowledge generation and access to information.
The aggregation takes place through the reproduction of news from the official public communication portals of the cities, all copyright and responsibility of the contents are of the official portals, which are duly credited and directed through hyperlinks and access link in the application.
The project follows what ensures Copyright Law, No. 9.610, Art. 46. It does not constitute an offense to copyright: I - reproduction:
a) in the daily or periodical press, of news or informative article, published in diaries or periodicals, with the mention of the author's name, if signed, and of the publication from which they were transcribed;
The aim is to promote the interest of the population and explore the official channels of public communication as a source of information.
In the OPA Reportagem menu, the journalistic contents are copyright and all rights reserved to the author of this project. It is a way of creating a relationship between the subjects that are relevant in the cities, and the production of journalistic guidelines as a source of information and knowledge for the community.
