Satsang means to lead a principled life based on a Satpurush's words, to have darshan of Bhagwan and His saints, and to be in communion with Bhagwan and His saints.
Satsang adds value to human existence. One who desires to make his/her life progressive and charactered ought to engage in Satsang all the time. Water cleanses the body, Bhakti cleanses the mind and Satsang cleanses Buddhi. Cleansing all three is very essential. Just as a home, utensils, surroundings etc need regular cleaning, the soul needs cleansing through regularly doing Satsang.
In this day and age one may have wealth but peace of mind is highly sought after and unfortunately he/she do not find time for that due to engagements in family, professional and social responsibilities.
