It is an application that connects to a GPS logger* equipped with Bluetooth LE (LNS profile*) via Bluetooth and relays the location information of the smartphone as a mock location (MockLocation). The usage is here. Smartphone apps that use location information will now work with the location information of the GPS logger instead of the built-in GPS sensor. The built-in GPS sensor can acquire location information at maximum once per second, while the GPS logger can acquire location information 5 to 20 times per second. It is essential when using it with an application that analyzes driving such as motor sports. Since the application operates as a resident type (service), the service is started from the application screen and continues to run even if the application screen is closed (the service is stopped from the application screen). Since it operates as a pseudo-location app, in order to use it, you need to enable "developer options" in your smartphone's settings and register MLS with "select a temporary location app". I have. Also, you need to enable Bluetooth connection and have location permission. Some game apps that use location information may not work with pseudo location location information.
*Bluetooth Smart (BT4.0) LNS (Location and Navigation Service)
* Operation has been confirmed with GL-770 (Transystem GPS logger), DigSpice III (Digi Spice 3), and DigSpice IV (Digi Spice 4). Other GPS loggers are unconfirmed.
① Select GPS logger
Launch the app and tap to display a list of nearby Bluetooth devices. Select the GPS logger to connect from the list. If pairing is performed, advertising packets will not be output and Bluetooth devices cannot be searched, so cancel pairing before searching. Also, depending on the timing, advertisement packets may not arrive, so please repeat the search.
②Connect to GPS logger
When you tap the GPS logger from the list, the connection process is executed. After a while, when the connection with the GPS logger is completed and the location information can be acquired, the speed, location information (latitude, longitude, altitude) and direction are displayed in the center of the screen. It may take 2-3 minutes for the GPS logger to receive GPS signals. If you connect to a device that is not a GPS logger, the message "Cannot connect" is displayed. Tap the disconnect icon to disconnect. Even if you select the GPS logger, you may not be able to connect. Tap the disconnect icon to reconnect. If the connection to the GPS logger is successful, the message "Connected" is displayed. In this state, the smartphone itself is operating with the location information of the GPS logger, not the location information of the built-in GPS. Devices selected/connected from the list are memorized (displayed in orange in the list). From the next time onwards, you can connect directly by tapping the connect button.
(3) Disconnect GPS logger
Tap the disconnect icon. When the disconnection from the device is completed, the message "Disconnected" is displayed.
