About Unbelievable Mankind's Misconc

In fact, according to Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, with an increase in the speed of a starship, the time on board will flow more slowly compared to the passage of time on Earth, and therefore two twins - one on board the spaceship, and the other, remaining on their home planet, will grow old at different speeds. However, the same Einstein pointed out that it is impossible to exceed the speed of light for a material body, since this will require an infinite amount of energy.
The writer Vladimir Voinovich tried to circumvent this paradox in the science fiction novel Moscow 2042. This way of time travel is described there. It is necessary to board a spaceship that is capable of moving, if not with superluminal, then still with a fairly decent speed, and fly "to the ends of the world". At the same time, as already mentioned, time in the spaceship itself will flow more slowly than on Earth. And returning, say, after 10 years, travelers may be surprised to find that a century has passed on their home planet.
And Voinovich, in general, did not sin against the truth. Physicists believe that a spacecraft capable of moving to another temporary reality should reach 98 percent of the speed of light. Then, according to calculations, a person who will travel in outer space for a year, despite the fact that he himself will become only 12 months older, having returned to Earth, will find that about 10 years will pass on his home planet.
However, such a missile is not yet at our disposal. That’s why great minds have been beating, are beating, and will probably be struggling for a long time over the question of whether it is possible to break the wall between the past, present and future in some other way.
To understand this, we cannot ignore the nature of time itself. It only seems to us that it is something understandable and obvious.
Why, for example, does it flow in only one direction? Yesterday is the past, today is the present, and tomorrow is the future. But is it possible to do something the other way around? Nobody knows this way yet.
Moreover, with the advent of increasingly accurate measuring instruments, it becomes clear that time, even in one direction, flows at different speeds. It turns out that its indicators depend on our location and the movement of the Earth.
"We live, as is commonly believed, in three-dimensional space," argues the professor, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, head of the biophysics department of the physics faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Vsevolod Tverdislov. - Space is not an empty place, there are various fields and particles in it. In order to describe their interaction, one cannot do without a time coordinate. Space and time cannot be taken apart. "
That is why theorists quite often talk about four-dimensional space-time. And overcoming space at different speeds, we can simultaneously overcome time. The gravitational effect on a person who left Earth on a spaceship is weakening, and time for him begins to go differently than for those who remained on the planet. For example, an astronaut moving out of Earth's gravity at a speed of 27 thousand kilometers per hour will already be 1/48 of a second ahead of time. This seems negligible, but, increasing the speed of the object, you can, in theory, look ahead even further.
"Time can go faster or slower depending on the speed of the bodies relative to each other. By changing the speed of one’s own movement, one can theoretically change the course of time for oneself, "emphasizes Vsevolod Tverdislov.
However, it is not necessary to develop crazy speed in order to get ahead of time. You can fool the space itself. The superstring theory allows a new look at the structure of space-time.
