The Look! A healthy district app, users can collect data about the health of their neighborhood. Through collecting several indicators established together with local residents in Slotermeer be active app users contribute to a healthier neighborhood. This can be done by going on a scavenger hunt through the neighborhood or direct reporting an indicator in the district.
The project Look! A healthy neighborhood (WAtsAP) fits well with the trend that people continue to measure more and better position their own environment and health ( "Citizen Science"). RIVM and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam coordinate the project and it is carried out in collaboration with GGD Amsterdam, Amsterdam Economic Board (AEB), Foundation Eigenwijks, District New West, Neighbourhood Advice Foundation and Association of Environmental Physicist (VVM). The project is funded by the RIVM, Fieldlab New West, University of Amsterdam and a RAAK Public subsidy ETB SIA.
