The Sahih of al-Bukhari and Muslim cites the hadith of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred without one, and anyone who counts them will enter Paradise” ... This means: whoever knows these names by heart, understands their meaning and significance, praises and asks Allah through them, and also believes in them, he will go to Paradise.
