Clean air is good, which strongly affects our quality of life. Our application provides information about air pollution forecasts of the air and biometeorological for Lower Silesia (eg you can check if the forecast is smog). Presented forecasts include information on concentrations of PM10, PM2.5 particulate matter, sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and ozone (O3). Is also presented Polish Air Quality Index, determined on the basis of the above-mentioned air pollution and providing synthetic information about air quality, along with brief information about the health hazards caused by the current state of air quality. In addition, the application also provides information about the risks associated with the stress of heat or cold.
Presented by the application forecasts are based on advanced methods of numerical modeling (models WRF and WRF-Chem). They are formed within the framework of the project entitled. "The forecasts concentrations of air pollutants and conditions biometeorological as an element of quality of life - LIFE-APIS / PL" carried out by the University of Wroclaw and the Regional Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Wroclaw.
Forecasts of pollutants are presented in six-color scale in grades from "very good" to "very bad". Biometeorological conditions are presented in a ten-point scale color of cold stress, the thermoneutral conditions, the stress of heat. The results forecasts are presented also as graphs and detailed compilation of results.
Functions:
- NOW forecast for the current hour forecast air pollution index air quality and the conditions biometeorological for user-selected location in Lower Silesia, supplemented with information health
- FORECAST - forecast air pollution index air quality and the conditions biometeorological for up to 72 h with a time step of 1 hour for a user-selected location in Lower Silesia
- LOCATION select and save your locations, so to get to them quickly and easily
- MAP - facilitate the search for location / map primer along with the search for easy to find location
- PARAMETER SELECTION - to select the parameters presented by the application
- DISPLAY MODE - Select the type of display (advanced or simple)
Forecasts are presented in local time.
The use of GPS running in the background can increase battery consumption. The application requires a call
with Internet. Using packet data may incur additional charges.
The application is finished Wroclaw Centre for Networking and Supercomputing (WCSS) on behalf of the University of Wroclaw in the framework of the project entitled. "The prognoz concentrations of air pollutants and conditions biometeorological as an element of quality of life - LIFE-APIS / PL".
The project entitled. "The forecasts concentrations of air pollutants and conditions biometeorological as an element of quality of life - LIFE-APIS / PL" is funded by the European Union
within the LIFE + Financial Instrument and co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
COMMUNICATION:
Presented distributions are not a result of the interpolation of the concentrations of air pollutants measured at measuring stations. It is probable distribution of concentrations of air pollutants obtained from the modeled the spread of contamination for current and future weather conditions, taking into account the changes occurring chemical
and the inventory database of emissions from point sources, linear
and surface. The observed differences between modeled and measured values of concentrations result largely from differences between actual and declared (inventoried) fuel quality and structure of emissions.
