Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive interstitial lung disease of unknown cause. The typical inspiratory crepitation, which can be heard on auscultation, similar to the sound of an opening hook and loop fastener. It is an important indication that further investigation is necessary. In the IPF Sound Challenge you can practice to diagnose various respiratory diseases. After the end of each recording, you can select the disease of the patients from four answer options.
