Gouramy is a freshwater fish that is widely cultivated. This is because it tastes more delicious than other freshwater fish. One obstacle in the development of gouramy is the limitations and the high price of seeds. At present, generally gouramy seed sellers carry out calculations manually using a tablespoon tool. This method often results in a number of miscalculation that is detrimental to the seed seller.
This study aims to implement the color extraction method for developing Android-based gouramy seed counters. Application designed to calculate gouramy seeds automatically using a Smartphone camera. Object calculation is done by extraction technique of gouramy seed skin color in Hue color space which will be used to characterize gouramy seed. Image processing is done with the help of the OpenCV Library. The developed application is tested and compared with the manual method performed by a calculating expert. Experimental results show that this application can make calculations much more accurate (accuracy: 99.5%) and more efficient.
