CrowdThinc is a mobile phone app that is, first of all, a social network. But – it’s a social network that’s built around surveys and conversations, and is organized around user-created communities.
Communities form around ideas or topics, questions, affinity groups (like organizations, school classes, companies, your-town, etc.) or areas of shared interest – basically anything you have an interest in that you want to share and talk about with other people. You can join or create as many communities as you like, and other users can become part of your community.
You can create and participate in surveys that focus on specific questions, ideas, issues or concerns. Anything from 'who's the best hip-hop artist', to 'where do you want to meet for dinner', to 'what should we do about climate change?' Survey topics are pretty wide open. And conversations, chats, and comments are how you share what you’re thinking about and have one-on-one or group discussions.
