১০ই এপ্রিল ২০১৮ সালের সপ্তদশ সংশোধনী সহ বাংলাদেশের সংবিধান সর্বমোট ১৭ বার সংশোধিত হয়েছে। এই সংবিধান সংশোধনের জন্য সংবিধানের ১৪২নং অনুচ্ছেদ অনুযায়ী জাতীয় সংসদের সদস্যদের মোট সংখ্যার দুই তৃতীয়াংশ সদস্যের ভোটের প্রয়োজন হয়। তবে পঞ্চম সংশোধনী , সপ্তম সংশোধনী , ত্রয়োদশ সংশোধনী ও ষোড়শ সংশোধনী বাতিলের আদেশে বাংলাদেশ সুপ্রীম কোর্ট রায় দিয়েছে যে, সংবিধানের মূল কাঠামো পরিবর্তন হয়ে যায় এরূপ কোনো সংশোধনী এতে আনা যাবে না; আনা হলে তা হবে এখতিয়ার বহির্ভূত।[২]
