The criminal law of the Republic of Tajikistan consists of this Code. New laws providing for criminal liability should be included in the Criminal Code.
The objectives of this Code are to protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, public safety and health of the population, the environment, public order and morality, property, protect the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Tajikistan from criminal encroachments, ensure peace and security of mankind, educate citizens in the spirit of observance Constitution and laws of the Republic, as well as the prevention of crimes.
