The University Journal (or Journal U.) is a website put into operation with the objective of bringing university information closer to University players as well as to Society in general. He is interested in news from all universities and colleges in Senegal, but not exclusively.

Powered by the PRECISION Group, the Journal U. is edited by Dr. Ibrahima Sylla, Research Lecturer in the Department of Geography at UCAD.

The University Journal's initiative emanates from an obvious observation: the University generally only interests the media when it is doing badly. The great ideas that develop there, the great figures of thought that cross it, the great conferences and reflections that take place there attract very little press. However, the latter decide on occasion to relay or not to disseminate this "good news" for society. The Journal U. is therefore designed as a valuation tool.

Its main objective is to contribute to the influence of higher education establishments in Senegal. To this end, it deliberately emphasizes information in relation to the positive dynamics within them. Specifically, the University Journal has the following objectives.

- Agglomerate University Information in a single space with simple, easy and free access;
- Organize a multi-stakeholder dialogue around governance processes (reforms and others) relating to the University;
- Present the university institutions and the teaching staff who underpin the functioning of universities;
- Popularize the knowledge produced in universities and higher education schools;
- Disseminate the results of university research in simple messages that can be used by society;
- Stimulate students' writing skills through free contributions they post in the Journal;
- Disseminate information that can facilitate the success of students, in this case scholarships, competitions, job offers and others;
- Stimulate the students' love for knowledge and work;
- Presenting valiant figures from academia and society in general with whom young people should identify;
- Create the conditions for a sustainable appropriation of the virtues of higher education in the context of the new reform.
