MUI has issued a fatwa about the ethics of media social. This form of Fatwa No. 24 of 2017 on the Law and Guidelines bermuamalah Through Social Media, which was signed on May 13, 2017 by the Chairman of the MUI Fatwa Commission, Hasanuddin, and Secretary Asrorun Ni'am Sholeh.
MUI issued a fatwa is due to see the dynamics of the use of digital and social media was not accompanied by responsibility, so often a means of dissemination of false information (hoax), slander, backbiting (submission of factual information on a person or group that is not preferred), namimah (pitting), gossip , distortions to speech of hatred and hostility.
