The KDK brand is an acronym for the Japanese company, Kawakita Denki Kigyousha which was founded in July 1909.

KDK is renowned as the first manufacturer of Electric Fans equipped with Japanese-made reciprocating motors in Japan. Thereafter, KDK has developed overseas markets since the 1950s and further strengthened its top brand position, where it is considered a synonym for Electric Fan.
