Broad Objective: To determine the efficacy of using an electronic mobile phone
antenatal care model in improving quality of care from first visit to third trimester as
compared to the Mother and Child Health booklet in KNH
Specific Objectives: Among antenatal patients seen using electronic mobile phone
antenatal care model versus the Mother and Child Health booklet used in KNH from the
first visit to third trimester:
1. To compare the proportion of antenatal mothers with complete antenatal care data
and clear birth and emergency plan developed
2. To compare the proportion of antenatal mothers with risk factors for adverse
pregnancy outcomes identified
3. To describe health worker experiences in using mobile phone antenatal care model
