The National Culture Basket is an educational program designed to expose Israeli students to culture and art as part of the formal education system.
A national culture basket provides Israeli students with tools for conscious and meaningful viewing of the six fields of art - theater, dance, music, cinema, literature and plastic arts.
The purpose of the program is the systematic and gradual exposure of students from kindergarten to twelfth grade to diverse fields of art, expanding the artistic offer and formulating an annual program that combines artistic and educational value.
This exposure to art has important ancillary values: broadening horizons, cultivating creative thinking, developing appreciation and taste skills, encouraging tolerance and attention to others, increasing social involvement and creating a common cultural infrastructure.
The app allows every claimant to choose the show or artistic meeting that best suits his needs and the needs of his family. It also helps all those involved in the craft to schedule the shows and meetings throughout the year, share with the students all the information, including preparation and processing materials and receive reminders ahead of the show or meeting.
A national culture basket is budgeted by the Ministry of Education, and operated by the Community Centers Society.
