About the book: /
A Tale of Two Cities is Charles Dickens' second historical novel, set in London, England and Paris, France during the events of the French Revolution.

The novel depicts the plight of the French working class under the brutal suppression of French aristocracy during the years leading up to the revolution, and the brutality that revolutionaries practiced against aristocrats in the early years of the revolution.

The novel traces the lives of some people during those events, the most famous of which is Charles Darney, one of the French aristocrats, who falls victim to the blind revolution that did not distinguish between good and evil despite his kind personality, and Sydney cartoon, the drunken English lawyer, who sacrifices his life for his love of Darney’s wife, Lucy Manette.

This novel is the most taught novel in high schools in the United States and many countries of the world. The novel was published on a weekly basis (unlike most other Dickens novels that were published on a monthly basis). The first episode was published in the first issue of Dickens' all year round newsletter published on April 30, 1859, and was published over 31 issues, the last of which was published on November 26 of the same year.
