What is a kolam
At the entrance of homes in South India, kolam (Tamil: கோலம்) drawings welcome everyone: animals, people, and gods alike. They are drawn each morning on the freshly cleaned pavement with rice flour.
Unlike rangolis, kolams use a very limited set of geometric shapes: curved loops drawn around a grid of dots. The simple elements add up to a beautiful, complex whole.
How to start
• Tap between two circles to join them.
• To split them again: tap on the crossing.
• Pinch zoom to enlarge the kolam, so that you can tap more comfortably.
• Use the color palette to change the colour of the background, lines or dots.
• Share your kolam with friends the way you like.
Further features
• Works offline.
• Start a new kolam of a size of your choice.
• Create custom layouts by removing some dots.
• Symmetry tools: change two or four places by one tap.
• Save your kolam and continue later.
