The KontroliD fingerprint identification system is made up of two mobile plug-ins that run from KontroliD and allow IDENTIFY people through their fingerprint in digital format.
The KontroliD - FingerID application is responsible for capturing the fingerprint to be identified and comparing it against the fingerprint database. This database is stored locally by synchronizing with the data stored in Kontrolid.
Fingerprint capture is done from one of the most popular biometric readers on the market, the Digital Persona U are. U 4500 and now the new EIKON TOUCH 710 that is of capacitive technology that saves more energy and comes with direct connection to the cell phone and a short 50 cm cable.
Fingerprints
Fingerprints are historically recognized as a low-cost, secure and biometric identification method. In the digital environment, for its management and use, management standards have been designed that allow harmonization in the form of storage and its subsequent recognition.
The basic operation of any biometric fingerprint identification system is to "capture" distinctive elements or patterns of the fingerprints after image quality correction processes. These patterns that encode the characteristics of each fingerprint are known as “minutiae”.
It is these details of the “minutiae” that are stored in a special type of file and not the fingerprints themselves (In fact, it is not possible to reconstruct an image of a fingerprint based only on its minutiae). The minutiae record that is stored for each fingerprint is called FMD (Fingerprint Minutiae Data), and it is these FMDs that are compared when an identification is going to be carried out, using complex algorithms that allow a comparison from 1 to N (Many).
