In addition to compulsory fasting in the month of Ramadan, Islam also advocates sunnah fasting for its people. Unlike the obligatory fasting, there is a fixed time sunnah fasting and there is also something that can be done at any time as long as it is not done on a day which is forbidden to fast, such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Tasyriq day, and others.
