About 北伐战争历史

The Northern Expedition generally refers to a large-scale strategic attack from south to north in Chinese history. In modern history, it often refers specifically to the Northern Expedition of the National Revolutionary Army from 1926 to 1928. The National Revolutionary Army marched northward to conquer the Northern Government and unified mainland China. Under the banner of the National Government led by the Chinese Kuomintang.

After the Northern Expedition, the Nanjing National Government formally ruled the whole of China and became the only representative power of China in the world. But in fact, the national government still has different forces within and outside the country, causing a series of internal conflicts such as the Central Plains War in the future. During the Northern Expedition, the Chinese Communist Party broke with the National Government, and the first civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party broke out.
