The 2023 Renewi Tour is a road cycling stage race that will take place from 23 to 27 August 2023 in Belgium and the Netherlands. It will be the second edition of the rebranded Benelux Tour and the 18th edition overall.

The Renewi Tour, most recently staged as the Benelux Tour, returns to the calendar after cancellation in 2022, with new dates and a new title sponsor. The 2023 event covers five days of racing, taking place Wednesday, August 23 to Sunday, August 27.

Now the Renewi Tour, the WorldTour stage race, began in 2005 as the Eneco Tour and later changed to the BinckBank Tour. It became part of the ProTour in 2005, as a reorganised effort to continue a long-standing Tour of the Netherlands stage race. The event was due to take place in the Netherlands and Belgium last year in early September across seven days, but organiser Golazo did not go forward citing a clash with other races, including the Vuelta a España.

Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain Victorious) won the last edition of the Renewi Tour in 2021. He was joined on the overall podium by teammate Matej Mohoric, who was second overall.

The first stage of this year’s race will take place in West Flanders for a road stage between Blankenberge to Ardooie. An individual time trial will then unfold in Sluis, Netherlands. Back to Belgium, the final three road stages will cover territory inland with an overall finish in Bilzen.

One of the youngest races of those present in the World Tour calendar. The Benelux Tour gives the answer to a classics-focused stage-race. Being a very recent race, it is one that travels through Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg with different mixes throughout the years.

It is a race that is frequently used as preparation for the World Championships, but the combination of cobbled stages, hilly and flat days sees always a big mix of sprinters and classics riders which swarm the startlist, always boosting it to a very illustrious level.

The upcoming Benelux 2023 cycling race is set to showcase the talents of riders from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. With an exciting race route that traverses various terrains and challenging stages, the competition promises thrilling battles and intense moments for cycling enthusiasts.

The race kicks off on Wednesday, 23 August 2023, with a stage starting in Blankenberge, Belgium, and ending in Ardooie, Belgium. This relatively flat stage could favor sprinters who excel in fast-paced finishes. Riders known for their sprinting prowess, such as Caleb Ewan from Australia and Sam Bennett from Ireland, could be strong contenders for stage victory.

On Thursday, 24 August 2023, the riders will face an individual time trial (ITT) stage in Sluis, the Netherlands. Time trial specialists who excel in maintaining high speeds over shorter distances will have an advantage here. Riders like Primoz Roglic from Slovenia, Tom Dumoulin from the Netherlands, or Wout van Aert from Belgium, known for their time trial abilities, could be top contenders for stage victory and potentially the overall race.

The third stage, scheduled for Friday, 25 August 2023, presents a challenging route from Aalter, Belgium, to Geraardsbergen, Belgium. This hilly stage could favor riders with strong climbing skills and the ability to navigate challenging ascents. Cyclists like Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia, Julian Alaphilippe from France, or Richard Carapaz from Ecuador, who have demonstrated their climbing prowess in previous races, could be strong contenders.
