Lourdu Sagaya Annai Church

22.07.1981 -Mathakottai was made a Parish and it was entrusted to the Salesians by His Lordship Bishop Sundaram, the bishop of Thanjavur, on a temporary basis for a period of three Years. There was already a Church in Mathakottai dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes.
-Fr. K.O.Louis the Rector of Don BoscoYagappa Nagar, Thanjavur, was appointed as the first parish priest of Mathakottai. The Parish was dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes's Help of Christians.
18.11.1983 - Fr. Michael Thomas the rector of DonBoscoYagappanagar, Thanjavur, was appointed as the second parish priest of Madhakottai.
11.12.1983 - Fr. Michael Thomas the rector of Don BoscoYagappanagar, Thanjavur was officially installed as the Parish Priest of Madhakottai.
19.01.1985 -His Lordship Bishop Sundaram laid the Foundation stone for the new church.
