A carob tree needs a spot in full sun and with well-drained soil. Carob trees can grow in a variety of soil types, including sandy or loamy soils, as long as they're not waterlogged. Carob trees require regular watering, especially during dry periods, to establish strong root systems. Once established, they can tolerate drought conditions. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the tree to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilise the tree annually with a balanced organic fertiliser, to promote healthy growth.
