The CONSEG were created by State Decree No. 23455 of May 10, 1985 and regulated by Resolution SSP-37, of May 10, 1985, and perfected, created the State Coordinator of the CONSEG for Affairs Community Councils of security. The CONSEG, at its foundation, were implanted in 522 municipalities (populated municipalities admit more than one board). CONSEG are 84 in the capital, 55 in the metropolitan area and 337 in the inland and coastal, totaling 476 councils. New CONSEG have been approved by the public security. Community leaders interested in participating in CONSEG should seek the advice of your neighborhood or city.
