About Manual de Plantas Medicinais

This manual is the result of the master's thesis “Integrative practices in primary health care, from the perspective of phytotherapy” presented to the Graduate Program in Public Health at the Federal University of
Paraná, in July 2017, by the master's student Rodrigo Noll Gonçalves under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marilene da Cruz Magalhães Buffon, co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Raquel Rejane Bonato Negrelle and Prof. Dr. Yanna Dantas
Rattmann. Master's student Jéssica Rodrigues da Silva Noll Gonçalves and scientific initiation scholars Gabriela Amanda de Sousa and Sara Aparecida Mota Gomes collaborated in making the manual. The study aimed to evaluate the use of medicinal plants in the community of the area covered by the Itambezinho Family Health Unit, rural location
of the municipality of Campo Largo/PR. This manual presents the medicinal plants most used by this population. The sociocultural relevance of this manual stands out by associating popular knowledge with scientific knowledge, thus allowing users to make use of
medicinal plant insurance based on knowledge of their potential health risks and benefits.
