Mobility has reconfigured society in its various spheres and journalism would not be an exception. Today, the production and circulation of webjournalistic content requires professionals who have graduated from Social Communication universities to master much more than technological tools: it is essential that they have an open mind for new ideas and new ways of working. Based on this panorama, the present application was developed, derived from an applied research developed in the Social Communication / Journalism course at the Federal University of Piauí (PPGCOM-UFPI). The initial objective was to investigate how mobility has been expressed in the journalistic content produced and circulated in Piauí, and then to think and develop, among the students of the Social Communication course, solutions for innovative products, practices and webjournalistic processes. It is, in addition to an applied research proposal, an attempt to integrate the teaching, research and extension tripod, since the intention is that, based on the results obtained by the research, UFPI journalism students would experiment with new applicability of the mobile devices in the content production process through the development, implementation and maintenance of a smartphone application. In short: questioning, analyzing and categorizing mobility in Piauí's web journalism to subsequently point out, test and implement alternatives for the application of mobile devices in innovative content is one of the main intentions of the project presented here.
