About Optima

The OPTIMA application is a computer-based technology for selecting antibiotics empirically, definitively and prophylactically. OPTIMA is an abbreviation for Outcome Prediction Guide Antimicrobial Selection and Management, which was designed by the Tropical Infection Division of KSM Internal Medicine RSCM in collaboration with Medical Technology IMERI, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI). This application is an artificial intelligence that processes clinical data from patients into recommendations for administering antibiotics in the clinical practice of inpatient hospital care.

Empirical Antibiotics:
OPTIMA is used to determine the choice of empiric antibiotics, in patients who are planned for hospitalization. This application uses the findings from the history, physical examination, and patient investigations to determine the empirical antibiotic options that are most appropriate for the patient.

Definitive Antibiotic:
OPTIMA can not only be used to determine the choice of empirical antibiotics for health workers working in the emergency department (IGD). OPTIMA is also useful for additional "follow up" data needed in determining definitive antibiotics. Choosing the right antibiotic is an important decision to prevent the development of antibiotic resistance and support optimal patient recovery.

Disclaimer
The antibiotic recommendations issued by OPTIMA are recommendations based on an algorithm compiled by the team. OPTIMA recommendations do not replace clinical judgment and the decision to administer antibiotics is entirely the authority of the doctor responsible for the patient. By downloading and using this application, the user understands and agrees to these terms.
