The Chicken Opor Recipe is Special
Apart from being a daily home menu, opor ayam is usually served as one of the main side dishes and accompanied by other side dishes in the Indonesian one-dish meal menu.

For example, in DKI Jakarta, opor ayam is present as a side dish for rice cakes or vegetable rhombuses. Its companion is egg balado or egg stew and is served with onion crackers and peanut sauce or chili balado. Meanwhile, areas in Central Java, such as Yogyakarta, know opor ayam as a side dish for warm rice which is also accompanied by krecek sambal. Unlike the Solo area, chicken opor is the main side dish of nasi liwet which is also served with stir-fried chayote and boiled eggs.

So it's clear that opor ayam is not just a daily side dish for the archipelago, but also one of the hallmarks of a line of Indonesian one-dish meals. There are three versions of opor ayam that are popular in Indonesia, namely white opor chicken, yellow opor chicken, and also red chicken opor. For those of you who like spicy, maybe make red chicken opor as your favorite dish because the color of the sauce from red chilies indicates the spicy taste of the opor sauce.
