Bible in French Louis Segond (Translation King James Version - KJV) Old Testament and New Testament.
The Company of Pastors of Geneva asks the doctor of theology Louis Segond to produce a new translation. This translates the texts from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, the "original" languages, and no longer from the Latin Vulgate, as was done until then. The Old Testament does not include the texts called deuterocanonical by Catholic tradition.
The Segond version appeared in 1880. It was widely distributed and was adopted by all of French-speaking Protestantism. In 1910 the text of the 3rd edition appeared, revised and revised. It lets the divinity of Jesus Christ appear better, according to the original texts.
