The Maqamat of Badi’ al-Zaman al-Hamdhani was the first to explain the Maqamat al-Hamdhani, Professor Imam Muhammad Abduh, after his return from Paris to Beirut: (Ramadan 1306 AH 1888 CE). His commentary was printed in the Catholic Press in 1889 AD, and he stated that he dropped some obscene phrases from two positions.
