Padepokan Seni Bagong Kussudiardja (PSBK) Built and founded by the late Bagong Kussudiardja in the Bantul Regency of Yogyakarta in 1978,PSBK brings the arts and the wider community to learn as a means for PSBK and its notions of art to grow, develop, thrive, and make a contribution to human life.
Continuing the founder’s spirit as an art centre, PSBK aims to support the creative development of artists and the general public to cultivate connectivity, continuity and creation of cultural values with the arts. PSBK serves as a creative laboratory, gathering place, performance and exhibition space for artists from different disciplines. PSBK presents works of emerging artists, facilitates artistic investigation and professional development, and devises programs that increase community engagement and networking with the arts.
After the death of Mr. Bagong Kussudiardja in 2004, the not-for-profit organization Yayasan Bagong Kussudiardja (YBK) was established.
