The Federal Telecommunications Institute has made public knowledge that, as of August 3, 2019, dialing rules for both mobile and landlines will change.
* The prefix 01 will be removed, the national long distance will no longer exist.
* Both the prefix 044 and 045, corresponding to calls to local and long distance mobile phones, will be deleted.
* The prefix 1 in international calls will be deleted as well.
From August 3, 2019, the uniform 10-digit dialing will take effect, in which all numbers, both fixed and mobile, will have 10 digits. All this with the purpose of facilitating and making markings simpler within the Mexican Republic.
