A mobile app to help you learn and search luganda clan names, totems, Ebisoko, Engero (luganda proverbs) and display aspects of the rich buganda cultural heritage.
The technological advances of the modern day world have washed away the many beautiful cultural norms, values & practices.Parents hardly find time for their children & the traditional fireside chats that were once an epitome of learning in a home have long been forgotten. These days its almost a taboo for one to speak & express themselves in their local mother tongues.Many software applications designed do not address the cultural gap that the new era has brought.This has detached the young generation from the rich historical cultural background and denied them the right to this heritage.This mobile App has been designed on this premise with the view that it will be handy in aiding both parents & luganda teachers transfer that rich heritage to their children as well as acquainting themselves with so much luganda literature & forgotten cultural values.
It must be said here that this mobile App is a work in progress & thus we are still constantly designing,developing,testing & debugging. Some functionalities like the "Filter search items" is not yet fetching called items. A side menu page about usage of the app is included guiding you how to use the mobile app. Many luganda names are still missing and some need to be authenticated. Proof reading is still on going so many data inputs may not be accurate & we seek to collaborate with luganda teachers,cultural enthusiasts, educationists, Historians and researchers to make this App a finished product.
