With an innovative, intuitively operated list of criteria, you can search nature: plants among 871 plant species for the natural garden of flowering plants according to location by selecting desired properties or specified garden conditions from the list of criteria. Among other things, pointer values according to Ellenberg et al. (1992), which describe the ecological occurrence taking into account the competitive conditions in the free landscape.
Although the competition between species can be strongly influenced by horticultural measures, it is particularly desirable in the natural garden to be based on natural plant communities and also to save labor. The design aspect is taken into account through adapted information on flower color, ecological value, germination behavior as well as other properties from "wild plants for every garden" by Reinhard Witt (1995) and "value in use values for vascular plants of grassland" (Briemle et al. 2002).

Then you can also proceed the other way round and use the search function and then tap on the properties in the selected species portrait to match, e.g. B. find valuable species for wild bees. nature: plants gradually refine the selection and automatically display a list of suitable plants.
Their list of species, which is intuitively and playfully compiled and can also be saved, is supplemented by specially prepared species portraits with categorized illustrations and texts from Wikipedia.
The responsive design enables use on both a smartphone and a tablet. There, a new quality of plant atlases is achieved with a three-column, reactive layout. nature: planting does not require external authorizations and works completely without an internet connection. It does not store any personal data and therefore does not require a data protection agreement. Your data is yours alone and you use the share function to decide which lists you want to make available to other people.
nature: planting knows two different basic views: the list of criteria with the corresponding result and the plant portrait. All views appear side by side on the tablet in landscape format, while the smartphone switches back and forth as follows:
1. You can access the plant portrait either by means of the flower symbol, which leads to the currently selected species, or by tapping on another species in the result list. The next or previous type is displayed by swiping. Use the magnifying glass to find a single species as the basis for similar species (see 2.).
2. The criteria list is either by means of the tuning symbol or by tapping on a property in the plant portrait - e.g. Butterflies - changed. The criteria list takes the selected property as an additional condition to find similar species.
The criteria categories that can be collapsed by +/- can be quickly reset by tapping the number of species shown in orange. Ideally, you only open a few criteria and push the view upwards on the smartphone so that the dynamically changing number of species is visible in the result list.
