Seeking to revive the historic musical vocation of the city of Ouro Preto (Minas Gerais), Rufo Herrera and Ronaldo Toffolo, associated with a group of instrumentalists who were part of the Trilos group and the Ouro Preto Quartet, created, in 2000, the Experimental Orchestra of UFOP, today Ouro Preto Orchestra. It is formed by about 20 musicians, with whom invited musicians are associated, depending on the repertoire to be performed. His Artistic Director and Principal Conductor is Maestro Rodrigo Toffolo.
