The Human Rights Ombudsman makes an accessible and easy-to-use tool available to the general population, which allows the public to keep abreast of the actions carried out in compliance with its mandate; and presents the possibility of making complaints or requests in cases of violation of Human Rights, and the opportunity to request Public Information or Evidence of Lack of Responsibility for Violation of Human Rights.
The Human Rights Ombudsman is a Commissioner of the Congress of the Republic, whose powers include investigation, supervision of the public administration, public denunciation, pronouncement, recommends and publicly censures harmful administrative behavior. The resolutions of the Human Rights Ombudsman are conscientious, not subject to any body, institution, official or person and acts with absolute independence for the defense of human rights established in the Political Constitution of the Republic of Guatemala, the Declaration Universal Human Rights, international treaties and conventions accepted and ratified by Guatemala.
In compliance with the constitutional mandate of the PDH, with the support of OXFAM and PROPAZ, the PDH seeks to create new mechanisms for receiving and monitoring ICT complaints and for them to be implemented at the institutional level. For the above, a mobile application has been developed with which you can carry out the following procedures from your cell phone:
1. Make complaints
2.Process evidence of lack of responsibility for violation of human rights
3. Request access to public information
In order to make complaints or request proof of lack of responsibility, you will need to be a registered user. To register simply fill in the registration fields in the app: name, email and password.
In addition to carrying out procedures, the application offers you the opportunity to be informed about the most important of the institutional work through news or communications and to know the locations of the departmental assistants, conversations in social networks of the PDH or contact through 1555.
