Established in December 5, 1958 out of necessity to augment the employee’s income and keep them away from loan sharks. It was founded by 15 PLDT employees and named the cooperative as “Free Telephone Workers Cooperative Credit Union (FTWCU)”. It was built from membership of 30 employees with P500.00 fixed deposit and a P5,000.00 loan from PLDT’s rank and file union.
